Under the Atal Ayushman Yojana (AAY) the State Government employees would get cashless health insurance facility, from December 25, also the birth anniversary of the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
The medical health and family welfare secretary Nitesh Jha directed the State Government to make sure that the officials register themselves for benefitting the facility of the scheme. In a meeting held at the State Secretariat, he expressed his displease on the fact that only 13 percent of the impaneled hospitals are giving treatment to the beneficiaries of Ayushman Bharat Yojana (ABY). The State Government had decided to merge the existing U-health card scheme with ABY scheme. The scheme was decided to be launched on November 9 which later delayed due to the urban local body polls.
The employee organizations have accepted the new format after the merging of the schemes. A prominent employee union leader Arun Pandey said that the scheme should be hassle-free, as he agrees that the scheme is beneficiary so that the employees can take its benefit with their employee code and Aadhar number. The scheme is still optional and just 18000 employees have registered themselves for the scheme. The pensioners can also be benefitted with this scheme.
