Disturbed by the war of words among the senior state Congress leaders following the urban local body (ULB) elections, the state Congress chief Pritam Singh said that he is blamed unjustly for the loss of the party.
The statements of the former chief minister and the All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary Harish Rawat and the former Speaker of Uttarakhand Vidhan Sabha Govind Singh Kunjwal had spoken words over the loss of seats in the ULB election that miffed Pritam Singh. He said that he would even take the toughest challenge for the sake of the party. Having such willingness and determination, blaming him is not justified, he said to the media on Friday. Furthermore, the PCC chief said that he himself had toured across the state and campaigned extensively for the party candidates. And in an oblique reference of Rawat’s statement, he said that two of seven seats were won by the Congress because of the campaigns he attended.
