Now BCCI domestic tournament matches will also be held in the mountainous regions of Uttarakhand. For this, the Cricket Association of Uttarakhand (CAU) has planned to build a cricket ground in the hill district.

Efforts are made to prepare this cricket ground by next season so that matches can be held here in the year 2020 or 2021. This is being touted as an ambitious plan by BCCI Vice President Mahim Verma.

Sources said that CAU has started looking for land for the cricket ground. So far the name of Uttarkashi and Pauri district is running at the top. CAU President Jot Singh Gunasola said that an MLA from Rudraprayag district has also shown interest in building a cricket ground.

Currently, the CAU team will visit all the districts to inspect the location of the cricket ground and the location of the local facilities. After this, the cricket ground will be built by selecting the appropriate venue.

Gunasola said that it will be developed on the lines of the ground of the big cricket academy, where matches of BCCI’s domestic tournaments will be held. At the same time, Mahim is also active in implementing this scheme. He has also assured full cooperation from the BCCI in this.

CM can be interested in Pauri
Mahim Varma has indicated that the Pauri district has the highest name in it. The reason for this is that being the home district of CM, CM can also take an interest in the development of cricket ground in Pauri. In this, full support of the government can also be found. However, it is still in its initial stage.

Now cricket will not be limited to just the plains like Dehradun, Haldwani. BCCI matches will also be held in hilly areas. For this, a search for cricket ground has been started in the hilly districts.
