Army and ITBP alert on China borders

After the violent clash along the Line of Actual Control with China in eastern Ladakh, an alert has been sounded in the border districts of Uttarakhand. According to sources, the vigil has been increased in the border areas. However, being a matter of national security, all are officially refusing to comment on the issue.

Uttarakhand is the frontier state of India. The area of about 350 km is bordered by China. Some outposts, especially in Chamoli and Uttarkashi and Pithoragarh districts, also remain near the China border. At the same time, Nepal is also bordered in Pithoragarh and Champawat district.

There were also reports of clashes between Indian and Chinese soldiers in Nelang in Uttarkashi last month, but there was no official confirmation. Apart from this, Barmahoti in Chamoli has witnessed a stir in the border of Chinese troops over the years.

If sources are to be believed, there is an alert going on in these two districts amid increasing tension between India with China. Along with this, the vigil has also been increased on the international borders of Pithoragarh, Champawat district. Even the Ministry of Home Affairs is monitoring the situation with the Uttarakhand government.

Pithoragarh district is bordered by Nepal and China. Work is also underway to build a road from Pithoragarh to Lipurekh about 240 km ahead. Here Kalapani, originating from Dharchula to Kalindi, is bordering Nepal. Beyond that, Nawidhang, Lipulekh is bordering China.

The area along the China border from Lipulekh to Kungri Bingri is on ITBP and Army alert mode. No one is allowed to go beyond the Inner Line inscription on the China border except for local villagers. Earlier there was a system of permits for ordinary people for the movement. The permit system has been closed for some time. Only local people are allowed to move here.

About 120 kilometers ahead of Harshil in Uttarkashi district is the border of China. The border villages Nelang and Jadung were evacuated during the war of 62 years. ITBP and Army are stationed here in Nelang Valley. Also in alert mode. The movement of common people is restricted in these areas. Jagrau, Barahoti, etc. area in Chamoli district is also near the China border. Army and ITBP are also deployed in this area. In these areas also the movement of common people is restricted.
