Aerodrome license to the Naini airport

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has given license to the Naini Saini airport in the Pithoragarh district considering the development expected to boost air link to the border of the district, on Thursday.
The State Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Prakash Pant informing the decision also informs due to lack of adequate infrastructure, air services could not be started although the construction work of the runway was completed a long time ago. After the BJP government is formed, Pant has continued efforts on starting airstrips, managed wider runway, providing adequate infrastructure at this airstrip, and also achieved success in getting this included in the Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik (UDAN) scheme started by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi besides other important projects.
Pant had discussed this issue during the visit to Delhi for participating in last week’s GST meeting which resulted in being granted by DGCA to fly the airplanes from this airstrip. He also expressed his happiness as he informs that the air service will start soon in the Pithoragarh district. He expressed that this will be beneficial for the remote area people, tourism development and a boon to the border district as a whole.
