A woman on the way to treat dialysis, crushed under a truck

The woman, who was going to dialysis with daughter, died after being hit by a truck on Monday on the Doon-Haridwar highway. Daughter somehow escaped from the accident. After the accident, the driver left the truck and escaped. Police took possession of the truck and sent the body to the post-mortem. According to the police, the truck driver has been identified, he is being searched.
According to the police, Savitri Devi (45) wife of Jagdish Singh Pundir, a resident of Inderlok Enclave, Balavala had kidney disease. On Monday, she was going to dialysis to the hospital with daughter Mrinal Pundir. Mrinal was driving the scooter, while Savitri was sitting behind. The truck coming from the rear near Jogiwala Chowk hit the scooter by the side.
From this, Scooter became unruly and Savitri fell on the road, while Mrinal fell on the other side along with the scooter. Seeing her mother crushing under the truck, she started crying and shouting. The neighbours informed the Jogiwala police, after which Savitri was taken to a nearby private hospital. There the doctors declared her dead.
Chowki Incharge Pankaj Tiwari said that the truck has been taken into custody. The truck owner was identified from the registration number, from which the driver was identified. Attempts are being made to arrest the driver.
