With the 10-point demands, three lakh government employees of the state are on a collective leave. After that, Finance Minister Prakash Pant indicated a rise in housing allowances in the meeting organized by the organizing committee. The ten-point demands of the employees were discussed in the meeting. The Finance Minister told the Coordination Committee that he will keep all their demands in front of the cabinet on Friday. After which the cabinet will decide on them.
After the minutes of the meeting are in written form, the organizing board will consider this and decide the further strategy. Said that following Cabinet meeting tomorrow will decide the further strategy.
Earlier on Thursday, the staff reached the Secretariat. But they showed their presence and gathered in the show. Employees at the ATM gate have fiercely sloganeering and performing. The work in the Secretariat was stalled. At the same time, the protesters stopped the employees from working and come protest to the secretariat.
The President of the Secretariat Association appealed that all the staffs can cancel the work and join the collective leave. Similarly, work in other departments also remained stalled. After this, the meeting of the Uttarakhand Officer Staff Teacher Coordination Committee with the Finance Minister Prakash Pant started on the 10-point demand letter including the seventh pay scales, in the state secretariat.
On Wednesday, on the direction of Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, the meeting of the committee coordinator was attended by Additional Chief Secretary Karmadi Radha Rathodari, but no result could be reached. There is a standoff between the government and the workers on the demands of the coordination committee. At the same time, the coordination committee has given exemption from the collective leave to the employees associated with the operation of the health department, the ambulance, the operation of the roadways buses, the power generation and distribution directly connected to the government’s initiative.
All the rest of the workforce have been called upon to stay on a collective leave. The government has also taken a stand in this matter. All employees coming for the collective leave will be provided full protection from the government.
