Central investigative agency CBI conducted raids at eight locations including Dehradun, Gurgaon, and Delhi of Educomp Solutions and directors of subsidiaries, which defrauded the consortium of 13 banks led by the State Bank for Rs 1955 crore.

Several hours of the investigation was conducted at the residence of IG Vinod Kumar Dadona, retired from ITBP in Dehradun. After Dadona was not found, the team returned to talk to his wife. The CBI has registered a case on 10 February on Educomp Solutions Private Limited and its subsidiaries and directors for defrauding a consortium of 13 banks worth Rs 1955 crore.

Non-performing asset
The CBI also conducted raids on eight places connected to them on Tuesday. The investigating agency has registered the cases against Educomp Solutions Limited and its management director Shantanu Prakash, guarantor Jagdish Prakash and its subsidiary Edu Smart Services Pvt Ltd and its directors Vijay Kumar Chaudhary and retired IG Vinod Kumar Dadona.

After registering the FIR, the agency searched the premises of companies and directors’ houses in Delhi, Dehradun, and Gurgaon. Officials said that in 2016 itself, the company declared a non-performing asset stuck in its account.

Stayed at the residence for several hours and investigated
The Delhi CBI team reached the residence number 402 of the Siddharth Paradise apartment in Panditwadi in Dehradun on Tuesday morning. The residence is being reported to be of retired ITBP IG Vinod Kumar Dadona.

Dadona did not meet there, but the CBI team spent several hours at the residence and investigated. It was told that Dadona is in Gurgaon for some work. After talking to family members, the CBI team returned.
